Chat Lite Plug-in Drags an ever-so-slow BuddyPress to a Screeching Halt

We installed Chat Lite on our BuddyPress site. We began to notice BP performance to go down — slowing even moreso than BP does normally. We ran a chat pilot yesterday with 10 BP Member’s.
- It took, on average, anywhere from 30-90 seconds for a chat message to appear on everyone’s screen.
- Chat messages were appearing up to 9-10 times in the viewport.
We don’t recommend Chat Lite in its present form.
