    Hi!

I have a problem with facebook chat plugin. For some reason typing is disabled in the chat plugin. I have tried disabling and enabling chat plugin on the website but no help. What could be the issue?

    Thanks!

Just a random guess as everything seems to load just fine, have you checked if the settings on your plug-in are the same as on the facebook business manager?

I had an issue where it wouldn’t send the pre-set messages from the plug-in to facebook, while it did send it back from facebook to the plug-in.

    Hi @post11assistant,

I visited the Facebook Page connected to this Chat plugin, and it looks like it has disabled the composer: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/send-messages/persistent-menu/#disable_composer

    Hope this clarifies,

    Hi @facebook

The composer was disabled and enabled straight from WordPress, but it didn’t help.
I tried accessing the app management from Facebook Developer’s mode, however the dashboard didn’t have any apps. I am not the one who created company’s facebook page and added messenger plugin to the webpage (that employee has left the company). Could this be the issue? What are the options here?

    Thanks!

    Hi @post11assistant,

Your best bet would be to look at the “Messaging” section in your Facebook Page’s settings, to see what apps are handling the messaging for the Page. Then the next step would be to determine who at the company has access to the app in question, as it’s through that app that you’ll be able to make changes to the messaging experience (i.e. enable/disable composer; set persistent menu, etc.).

As a last resort, you can remove the app from the Page, and revert it to a basic messaging channel – however please bear in mind that all custom messaging functions (such as persistent menus, automated replies, etc.) will cease to function.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately we couldn’t figure out the cause of this error. I simply made new facebook page which messenger function works. I consider this topic resolved.
