Chat User Duplication – No Messages

    Morning guys,

    Back again.

    For some unknown reason, it appears that that since my last message, our chat has gone nuts whilst in we are in testing.

    The only user that is logged in is the Administrator; the chat area no longer allows messages to be sent / received from the user and the Username duplicates several times (5 users of the same account at time of writing).

    We have the latest version of the plugin, as do we have the latest version of all plugins (we are using the Elementor plugin for our pages along with Ultimate Member).

    We have removed and reinstalled /re-activated the plugin to the default settings and this also has no effect.

    We get this code from the Debug Menu (minus —–)

    Afternoon guys…

    We’ve been trying to resolve the issues ourselves, however we’re still no further forward.

    We’ve deactivated and rolled back Elementor plugin in case this was the issue, unfortunately this is not the case

    We’re now seeing this when loading any wordpress page:

    Warning: session_start(): open(/home/sites/pesonline.co.uk/tmp//sess_55i0ck7vta4brh9isqu2e9dej3, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /home/sites/pesonline.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wise-chat/src/dao/user/WiseChatUserSessionDAO.php on line 95

    Due to this, we’ve deactivated the plugin.

    Sincerely hoping you can assist as this plugin is exactly what we’ve been looking for such a long time ??

    Hi Guys – Are there any solutions to this problem yet? I can’t see my messages unless I refresh the page……

    Wise Chat uses the standard session_start function in PHP. Many plugins and WordPress itself relies on the function, but it is generating errors in your site. It is not related to the chat, although it might look like that. Here I found a similar issues:

    I hope it will help you resolve the problem. Probably you should ask your server administrator. Wise Chat should start working properly once you solve the issues with session_start function.

    If you don’t see posted messages until you refresh the page:
    – check for Javascript errors in your Console in the browser, sometimes other plugins blocks / affects the chat
    – enable Debug mode in Wise Chat Settings and check for any errors in the debug window under the chat, you may see some PHP errors either in Wise Chat or other plugins / themes
