Check for custom theme updates

  • Is there a simple WordPress function for seeing if the theme you are using has any available updates that can be applied to it by any chance? I’ve made myself a custom theme but was wondering if there is a way to update it without the theme being in the WordPress theme database?

    Is this something WordPress allows via a function or something or would it require a lot of development? Thanks!
