Check If Logged In HTML5 Game

So I am currently developing a game in HTML5 and was curious how I could check if a user was logged into the blog? The game will be embedded through an iframe and I want to check if a user is logged in then get their username. It will be used for submitting high scores to a high score table and I want the users to be registered to be able to submit.
