• HELP! My store is shut down.

I just updated to latest version of WC and PP for WC plugin. I also allowed WC database update. Now when I go to checkout, the PP for WC section of checkout page won’t allow any clicks or activity. Can’t select card vs PP, can’t enter card #’s, can’t checkout.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!

Hello Angell EYE, I see you responding today to other post and tickets. I have an open ticket now for over 36 hours. How do I get support??

@jolo677, I’m sorry for the delay in response, on weekends usually, there is very limited support, I hope that will be understandable.

About the checkout page, We have not received any reports of this from any other users so this seems to relate to the theme because it’s not loading correctly even on the desktop, So can you try to switch to the basic theme and see if you get this working? Another reason I found is that there is a mixed content error on checkout page > https://prntscr.com/h9pl56. Which is due to SSL configurations. Do you have force SSL checkout enabled in the checkout page settings? Please check that and then give it another shot.
Please check those and let me know what you got.
    Thanks!

Force SSL was and has always been checked. HTTPS is firing. I unchecked and rechecked it with a ‘save’. Still same issue. It seem the entire PP for WC section of the checkout page is locked up and not clickable. The rest of the checkout page above PP for WC still functions normally and allows clicks and field inputs.

It sounds like there could be a caching issue going on after you updated WooCommerce and other plugins. Can you try completely clearing your even temporarily disabling caching / CDN tools that you have running and see if that helps? If you’re on WPEngine, by chance, they are notorious for this problem.

Thanks for reply. I’ve completed all cache clearing. That did not fix. Yes, I’m on WPE, contacted them also, they see no issue on their end. Do not have a CDN. Any other thoughts?

If you disable our plugin temporarily and leave PayPal Standard active does the checkout page function as expected then, or is the problem still happening even with our plugin disabled?

    Thread Starter jolo677

    (@jolo677)

Still happens with your plugin disabled. Also tested disabling the
WooCommerce Checkout Field Editor plugin just to be sure that was not the issue. That did not fix the issue.

Okay, that means the problem is happening from something else then. If our plugin isn’t even active and it’s still happening then it can’t be happening from our plugin. You need to track down whatever conflict is happening to cause that problem in general. It seems unrelated to us.

ok, thanks. I’ve restored the last backup, putting WooComm back to 3.1.2 and that fixed the issue. Any suggestion on a resource that can debug this further or how I should proceed?

I would recommend setting up a staging copy of your site and then start applying updates there. If it happens again, disable all plugins except for Woo and switch to a basic Twenty theme. See if the problem is fixed then. If so, then re-enable each thing one-by-one until the problem comes back to find the culprit.

Thanks. I set up staging and did the WC 3.2.5 update. Interesting, it works just fine in the staging environment, but does not work in the live environment. Any thoughts on what might be causing that? Is this a WP Engine issue in the way my live environment is setup?

    (@angelleye)

I know that WP Engine can be very finicky with regard to caching, and I think they leave caching disabled on their staging sites, so that’s where I would first look. Make sure the site cache is completely cleared and started fresh after doing updates, and also clear your browser cache as well.

    Jolo677,

Did you figure this out? I am having the same issue, it’s like all the js doesn’t load correctly.

    Thanks,

@dpitzer, have you followed standard troubleshooting procedures for WP? For example, temporarily disabling other plugins and switching to a basic theme to see if the problem goes away? If so, then re-enable each thing one-by-one until the problem comes back to find the culprit..??

The issue was resolved by taking the entire site to https, not just the checkout page within WooComm.
