    Hi SiteGround Migrator Team,

After successfully running the migration tool I get the “Transfer Completed Successfully!”

When I click the Check Site “GO TO SITE” button I get a blank page with this one line:

Fatal error: Can’t use method return value in write context in /home/*/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress/core/Admin/Admin.php on line 28

I have changed the full path in this post at *, instead of * it originally has my login name.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is there a difference in the PHP versions between the one on your previous host and the one on your SiteGround account? I think you’re using an outdated PHP version. As a temporary solution, please rename the wp-content/sg-cachepress folder to disable our caching plugin that gets automatically activated as end step of the process to load your site.

    Hi both!

Thank you for your super fast response! (9 min)

Yes, I missed the PHP 5.6 minimum. I am on PHP Version: 5.4.45

Updating the PHP version is not an option for me, I do not have that kind of access and the server I am on is old with lots of other sites that might or might not work with a newer PHP version.

I do not have the wp-content/sg-cachepress folder on my SiteGround server. I can see the sg-cachepress folder in my plugins folder though. In wp-content I only have a cache folder with a wmac folder in it.

    Any further suggestions?

    My bad: wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress

    Thank you!

Renaming wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress to sg-cachepress.old made the GO TO SITE link load correctly without any error. I have now also updated the Nameservers DNS as instructed as well. Once the change is in effect I should enable the sg-cachepress again or what should my next step be?

The SG Optimizer will not work on PHP 5.4. Once you manage to update your PHP version to 5.6 or above, you can enable and use it.

Once the Nameservers DNS was in effect I used the SiteGround / My Account / Go to cPanel/ 1H Sofware / PHP Version Manager to update the PHP from 5.4 to 7.1. Just click on the public_html (php54) and then pick the PHP version you would like to update to. Simple and very straight forward.

Thank you, Hristo, amazingly fast and helpful migration support. Now I have 4 more sites on the PHP 5.4 server to migrate…

Updating using the Migration Assistant Case closed.
