Checkbox Group- all boxes "checked" in profile

    Greetings,

    I’m doing my best to learn this plugin but having a bit of difficulty. I’m sure once I get the hang of it I will be thrilled. It seems like it will do exactly what I need.

    I’ve created a checkbox group to appear in the user profiles. I tested it after selecting three of the 15 options and all the boxes came back checked once the page reloaded.

    Is there something I did wrong? Also, I am unsure what to put for “value” in the new user meta.

    Hi,

    The first Value field is for the default value. This is the value new registrations are assigned if they do not choose one, or if the field is not a profile field. You probably don’t need to use that for your checkbox group, unless you want one of the checkboxes selected by default.

    Did you create 15 options with each having a unique value?

    The 15 options all have values that are identical to their labels in my checkbox group. For example, if the labels say “rock,” “paper,” scissor,” that’s what the values say as well.

    I did fix the original problem that I started this thread with by putting the number 20 in for the first value field.

    I guess I’m screwing things up by not putting numbers in the value boxes beside the labels? I actually can’t make heads or tails of what this is doing which is what my problem is… If I were able to make more sense of it I’m sure I wouldn’t be banging things around like I am.

    Sorry if the plugin is confusing.

    You should be able to use text or numbers for the checkbox values.

    Try leaving the first Value field empty. Then, add your labels and values for each checkbox. Be sure no two values are identical.
