    Hi there

On our contact form on our site, there is an option to receive newsletters from us. The check box is already ticked (people can choose to untick it if they don’t want to get a newsletter) …. however, when I get the web-to-lead notification from Salesforce, in the lead page that checkbox is unticked. I have done a few tests unchecking and checking that box, but it doesn’t register on Salesforce, it’s always unticked. I’ve received a few “contact us” with no requests for a newsletter, that’s when I suspected something is wrong. I hope someone can help me with this.

Here is our website with the contact form. https://www.christiansurfers.co.za/contact/

    Kind regards
    Janine

Checkboxes must have a value, otherwise the browser ignores them and doesn’t even submit that field with the form data.

Even if it did, sending “nothing” to SalesForce is never going to check a checkbox — even if the browser has told the plugin that the checkbox was “empty”.

Try 1 for the value of both of your checkboxes. While something else may work, it may not always work (generally anything other than null, 0 or “blank” is considered false, but that’s not always the case).

I’ve updated the FAQ to reflect this requirement.

    Hi Nick

Thank you for your reply. I added 1 for the value and it worked. Thank you so much for your assistance.
