I updated Woocommerce and my site went down. Bluehost told me to rollback because I’m at wordpress 6.3. However, the woocommerce plugin says: WordPress Version:6.2 or higher Tested up to:6.3.2. So how am I supposed to know that it’s not compatible with my 6.2 wordpress site?

  • Hi @masstaxschool,

I updated Woocommerce and my site went down. Bluehost told me to rollback because I’m at wordpress 6.3. However, the woocommerce plugin says: WordPress Version:6.2 or higher Tested up to:6.3.2. So how am I supposed to know that it’s not compatible with my 6.2 wordpress site?

From what I understand, you’ve encountered an issue after updating WooCommerce which resulted in your site going down. You mentioned that Bluehost advised you to rollback because your WordPress version is 6.3. However, the WooCommerce plugin indicates that it is compatible with WordPress Version 6.2 or higher, and has been tested up to 6.3.2. You’re seeking clarification on how to determine if it’s not compatible with your WordPress 6.2 site.

Firstly, I want to assure you that WooCommerce is indeed compatible with WordPress versions 6.2 and higher, up to 6.3.2. Therefore, theoretically, you should not experience any compatibility issues with your current WordPress version of 6.3.

However, if you’re still experiencing issues after the WooCommerce update, there might be other factors at play. It could be a theme or another plugin causing a conflict. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

    1. Disable all plugins except WooCommerce: If your site works fine after this, start activating other plugins one by one to identify the culprit.
    2. Switch to a default WordPress theme like Storefront: If this resolves the issue, the problem lies with your current theme. Here’s a handy guide on testing for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts.

If none of these steps work, could you please share your site’s System Status with us? It will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us identify the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Also, if there are any fatal error logs, please share those with us as well. You can find them under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered this information, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com to paste it and share the link with us.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter! We’re here to help you get this sorted.
