    Dear support,

Using the standard checkout blocks we get translations to German (Sie) and it looks mostly correct, but as the lowercase fieldname is passed to the format function, the casing is not correct. In German the field names need to be title case (or like the label). Also the quotation marks are not the correct ones.

    Wrong:
Bitte geben Sie für das Feld ?vorname’ einen gültigen Wert ein

    Correct:
Bitte geben Sie für das Feld ?Vorname” einen gültigen Wert ein

    Wrong:
Bitte geben Sie für das Feld ?e-mail-adresse’ einen gültigen Wert ein

    Correct:
Bitte geben Sie für das Feld ?E-Mail-Adresse” einen gültigen Wert ein

Why are not just the labels of the fields used, they would lead to a correct result in all of our (standard)-checkout fields?

We found no documented hooks to fix this issue via a workaround. Please assist.

    Best Regards,
    Tobi

    Hi @toovy ,

Thank you for reaching out, I understand your concern regarding the translation and casing of checkout field names in German. Using the correct title case and quotation marks definitely helps maintain professionalism and accuracy on your site

To help address this, may I ask if you’re using any translation plugin? If none, I’d recommend trying out the Loco Translate plugin or a similar translation plugin. This plugin allows you to easily alter translations and ensure they appear as you’d like on your checkout page, including proper casing for field names.

Here’s how you can use Loco Translate:

    1. Install and activate the plugin on your WordPress site.
    2. Navigate to Loco Translate in your WordPress dashboard and find the WooCommerce plugin.
    3. Search for the strings that you want to fix and adjust them accordingly.

This should correct the field name capitalization and quotation mark usage. Let me know how it goes.
