    Hello @leeredose

This is a known issue, it is a choice we made to avoid other options from occurring.
As of the latest version, the validation takes place after you press the button “Pay Now” in the PayPal pop-up window where you log in to your account and review the payment details.

The next update includes a new basic validation to improve this behavior and can be tested with this version: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/releases/tag/1.9.0-test6

    Thank you.

Might be a known issue but then causes other issues. It leads to pending payments and false redirects back to the website. This plugin is a pile of rubbish. We have now tried to move from the original paypal plugin to this plugin 4 times and each time it causes strife due to the low quality build and constant bugs. Please confirm when you will commence supporting the original plugin ( which worked fine) while you take this pile of rubbish off line and start a rebuils so it actually works properly. Awful transition process.

In addition it is then possible for a customer to check out without agreeing to terms and conditions. This puts a legal responsibility on you as the plugin developer to then be liable for any customer issues that occur without customers agreeing to terms and conditions. Terrible.

    Hi @leeredose,

In the meantime, the 1.9.0 update has been released, so the new validation mentioned above is available in the latest version.
This should help clarify the checkout flow. Please let us know if anything remains unclear. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
