Checkout not working- Urgent help required!

    There seems to be a problem which is possibly related to the wp 4.9.5 update.

    whenever a client reaches the checkout page and presses “proceed to paypal”, there is a message saying “Error processing checkout. Please try again.”

    Firstly, i dont know what this is happening.
    Secondly, the error message is also not shown on the front end- i can only see it when viewing the page source code.

    here’s what i see in the error log file: 2018-03-26T20:31:50+00:00 CRITICAL Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get_order_number() on boolean in /home/webcont5/public_html/shop/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/gateways/paypal/includes/class-wc-gateway-paypal-request.php:77

    I already deactivated all related woocommerce plugins but the problem persists.

    You mentioned disabling related plugins. I would disable all the plugins aside from WooCommerce and switch to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen or Storefront and see if that helps. That should help narrow down the issue.
