• MY customers are finding the one page checkout page to be very confusing. THey have to fill out their shipping info to calculate shipping and then fill it out again a second time for shipping address below that. Is there a way to remove that shipping calculator so that they only have to fill out billing and shipping info and select payment method and it will automatically calculate the shipping based on what they put in the shipping info and then show the totals on the next page? Between this and the fact that they have to keep clicking the ‘i have read the terms of service’ button (it resets anytime there is any problem with checkout), i see where users are trying this 4 or 5 times and then giving up. Any help is appreciated. I set the admin/store/shipping ‘enable shipping settings’ off but that not only removes the shipping calculator but it doesn’t calculate shipping.

  • The only reply to your post is YES. It’s really bad how it works now.

Some of our customers feel like they’re stuck in a loop. There should not be two places where customer input causes a shipping recaluation to be required. In our case it’s especially annoying as we only use flat rate shipping so no calculation is necessary.

This post is worth reading https://zao.is/blog/2014/12/10/remove-shipping-calculator-wp-ecommerce/. We used that plus some CSS to remove the Calculate Shipping section etc but it may only apply for flat rate situations.
