Checkout styling in IE 9 standards mode

I’m building a site with pmpro using the stripe gateway. I’m having trouble with the formatting of the checkout page form in IE.
For a reason I cannot work out IE9 is ignoring all the pmpro styling on the checkout form. The form displays correctly in Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
If I switch IE9 to quirks mode the form displays with the styling applied.https://members.physio-pedia.com/membership-account/membership-checkout/?level=1
I’ve tried switching to a default WordPress theme but the problem remains.
Any ideas gratefully received.
