    Hi,

First, this is a great plugin!

    I have 2 question:

    1. How I can send a post to specific child category? like “news>hot news”
    2. I started use “Default featured image” plugin, and when I send a picture in the mail, the picture insert as a part of the post and not as the featured image. (the featured image is my default image as I set with “Default featured image” plugin)

    Glad you like Postie!

    >How I can send a post to specific child category? like “news>hot news”

Just specify the category(s) in the subject line. See https://postieplugin.com/faq/override-post-categories/

    >I started use “Default featured image” plugin, and when I send a picture in the mail, the picture insert as a part of the post and not as the featured image.

There are settings for how Postie deals with featured images. What are “Use First Image as Featured Image” and “Include Featured Image in Post” set to?

It is possible that the “Default featured image” plugin is firing before Postie has a chance to update the featured image.

    Hi,

    tahnks for your answer.

OK. but what if I had 2 categories with the same name?

I set “yes” in “Use First Image as Featured Image” and “no” in “Include Featured Image in Post”.

I don’t know how it’s work excatly. but it’s happen just when I post wuth postie.
when I post normally or with form, everything works fine.

    > OK. but what if I had 2 categories with the same name

While you can have the same name the IDs and slugs will be different. Postie will try to find a matching category by name, then slug then ID.

Additionally if enabled (Match short category) it will search for terms in any taxonomy where the name or slug starts with whatever was specified in the subject line.

    >“Default featured image” plugin

Based on what you’re saying it sounds like there is an incompatibility between “Default featured image” plugin and Postie.

I suspect that “Default featured image” is setting the featured image before Postie has had a chance to import all the images from the email.

See https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/default-featured-image/#can%20i%20exclude%20a%20page%20or%20give%20it%20a%20different%20image%3F for a possible workaround.

OK, I will check it. thanks a lot!

To follow up, I found a fix for it via DFI filters:
