child category pages not showing

  • i have a theme which was working properly upto few days ago. but i had to re-install wp due to some reason. now the prob is everything is working great except when i click the child category it shows “page not found” error?

    i have checked all plugins( dont have many though).
    could anyone suggest whats the prob?. yes i do have category.php in template.

    any suggestions friends…..

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    -resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting/renaming your WordPress .htaccess file? If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.
