Child events

  • Hi,
    thank you for this plugin this is outstanding job. Child events feature was the main feature that was missing.

    There is one case I see. After adding child event in the [events_list] it links to the page the shortcode was posted not to the event. Take a loot at the example:

    event:
    ?Elektroniczny Park” – magiczna przestrzeń z wizualizacjami 3D
    at the page:
    example
    Oryginal event links properly, but the child doesn’t.

    It would be also amazing if you could make it possible to add different names to each child event. There are multiple examples when this would have a great use, i. e. you add the post “Summer program at the Cultural Centre” and then you could multiple child events with different names of the events linking to the main post.
    This would make your plugin even more amazing.

    Hi, I don’t really understand the use of different names in child events.

    It seems like different events : different name, different date, different location…

    For the bad link, could you check the configuration, there’s maybe a conflict with the “do not link empty posts” settings.

    Another suggestion for improvements on Children events:
    When creating a new child event, it would be useful to have the location details copied from parent (in the very likely case of creating many events in the same location)

    J’ai exactement la même demande, c’est à dire que je voudrais ajouter un article avec plusieurs dates d’événements.
    Chaque événements a un nom différent.

    Je m’explique.
    Je veux rajouter cette extension sur le site d’une mairie.
    Une association veux communiquer sur ses événements du mois.
    Elle écrit un article avec le descriptif de chaque événement puis ajoute une date pour chaque événement dans ce même article.
    Des événements organisés donc par cette association mais assez différents l’un de l’autre, donc chaque événement a besoin d’avoir un nom différent pour être visible clairement dans le calendrier (ou la liste).

    Et petit souci que j’ai pour l’instant à part le fait que j’ai plusieurs fois le même nom d’article sur l’agenda avec des dates différentes :
    Chaque “sous-événement” pointe vers une page qui n’existe pas et non pas vers la page de l’article.
    Exemple :
    Lien de l’article : https://viane.fr/?p=781
    Lien du sous-événement : https://viane.fr/eventpost/828/

    Avez-vous une solution pour l’un et/ou pour l’autre problème ?

    I don’t really get the use case : if your events haven’t same title, date and location, why do you create a child-event? Can’t you use an standalone one ?
