As you’ve noticed, managing the children fees is not a feature available in the Free version. With the Pro version you could do that by creating a new Option/Extra from the apposite menu page. By creating a new fee “only for children”, you could define different costs per age-band, meaning that children could pay a different fee depending on their age.
Moreover, such fees could be absolute values in your currency, or percent values of the room base-cost (like 50%). This pricing feature is useful also for those offering different types of meal plans, like half-board or full-board. It is also fully compliant with some OTA standards that support fees per child age.
With the free version you can still set up the occupancy based pricing per adults (OBP) after having defined the base costs per night from the page Rates Table, which should be based on the default (standard) usage of the room, which is usually equal to the minimum or maximum adults capacity. Then, from the edit page of each room-type, you will be able to define the price offset for the various number of adults (OBP pricing).
