Child Theme

You can create your own. There are a number of plugins that will create the basics of a child theme for you. You can also create one without a plugin by following the instructions here.

The reason I had asked is because another theme maker offered a basic child theme in their support section.

No worries. It seems relatively straight forward to create one.

Generally what you get with included child themes is what the plugins will provide, and then you can go from there with any customizations and not have to worry about them being overwritten by a future theme update.
