• Hi,

I was wondering… is it possible to create a child theme having Zippy as a parent theme?

I would like to change the menu colours. I have tried using a pluggin that generates child themes, but it doesn′t work. I have also tried creating a child theme, including its style file and its functions file. However, it still does not work. When trying with other themes, as Twenty thirteen and other WP samples, I have no problem at all adding new CSS rules in the child theme. It doesn′t seem to work with Zippy.

I run it in my computer (not in a server at all), but I guess it shouldn′t make a difference, as it works when using other themes.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Using a basic example of a Child Theme with just a style.css file, what error do you face?

    Hi Andrew,

Well, I don′t get any error at all. It is just it doesn′t work. I write new CSS in the child-theme style sheet, but when opening the site, any diference is shown (when changing a color menu, a font…).

To check if it was a problem with the way I was creating the child theme, I have tried to do it with the Twenty Thirteen theme and it perfectly works with it.

I don′t know why, but my child theme just doesn′t overwrite the parent one. It is not that I get an error. It′s just it′s shown as if nothing was changed.
