Child theme

  • Hello, I wonder if I am able to create a child theme of this child theme, to avoid updates to change my custom code or styles. Many tnanks!

    thanks for using MH HealthMag (child theme for MH Magazine lite).

    You can’t create child themes for child themes in WordPress. But what you could do is rename the theme slug of the MH HealthMag child theme (e.g. from mh-healthmag to mh-healthmag-new).

    That way you can avoid getting updates for your child theme (but make sure it’s always compatible with the parent theme before updating the parent theme in the future).

    To do this, just re-download the theme, unzip the folder, rename the theme slug, make it a zip file again and then install and activate your renamed child theme in your WordPress dashboard.
