• I all, I have a child theme for Liquorice that I have been using. I have a feeling I didn’t do it properly. I have read everything about child themes but still not really “getting ” it.
I have created my child theme and there are some codes in it. However, before I even knew about child themes, I changed some stuff on the CSS stylesheet of my parent theme. Should I be copy and pasting everything on my parent theme stylesheet into my child theme? Then have the override codes that I use underneath all that?

Through this support forum I’ve copy and pasted codes that nice people have given me into the child theme s that is all thats there.

    The site is thehealthycollective.com

You need to have only those styles that you want to override the parent’s CSS in child theme’s CSS as the rest will be imported from the parent’s style CSS.

Oh. So the colors I’ve changed and things I’ve changed in the parent theme will stay as is, IF the theme gets upgraded?

I deleted my post because I figured out what theme you are using….I like your website! Keep up the good work! ??

Thanks! It’s the liquorice theme. It’s been quite a bit of work getting it how it is now, since I’m a beginner. The people on here are so helpful, it always amazing me so utilize them for sure!

Thanks Hilary for your reply. I am a beginner too at blogging and websites. Since you like healthy things, you might like to take a look at my cooking blog: https://tinascocina.com/

I am happy with this site, it’s my book’s website that I want to change (make it more than just about my book…which is why your site caught my eye)!

    Keep up the good work!!

No, you need to move any changes to the child theme – the parent theme files get overwritten when the theme is updated.
