• Hello,

I am creating a website with the theme Arcade Basic, but don’t really understand the concept of the Child Theme. Should I do all my adjustments in a Child Theme or can I do certain things in the normal theme as well, like posting photos or messages. And should I activate my normal theme or the Child theme to be visble to everyone?
If it is the Child Theme how does it then works when there is an update for the normal theme?

Also I read somewhere that it is saver to adjust your css code by using an FTP instead of using wp dashboard in the browser. Is this true and how does an FTP work?

Hope someone can help. Many thanks in advance.

    Heleen

  • Creating a child theme is only important if you plan on modifying the theme files directly.

If you plan on changing CSS, I suggest upgrading to the premium version so you can use the Custom CSS editor, which means you don’t have to modify any files or use FTP.
