Child Theme: Error importing settings! The settings you uploaded…

    I know this question has been asked before but it’s slightly different this time. All I’m trying to do is import settings from a parent theme to a child theme of the same name with ‘-child’ appended to the name.

    I’m getting ‘Error importing settings! The settings you uploaded are not for the current theme.’ The parent theme is Blocksy and the child theme is Blocksy Child (blocksy-child).

    The site is on my xampp localhost.

    How do I resolve this issue?

    I believe I have resolved the issue. The Blocksy theme has its own built-in customization settings exporter that can be found under Customize > General > Manage Options >

    Using this export method instead of the plugin resolved the issue.
