Child Theme for twentythirteen randomly fails to load

    Hi,

    I’m building a child theme based on twentythirteen and I’m encountering a weird issue. Every once in awhile or after I come back to the site after a long period, the site gives the white screen of death. On /wp-admin, on the home page, all white screen.

    If I go in and clear all the files in my child theme, reload the site, then readd all the files again (without modifying them) and then reload again, then it starts working again … temporarily. After some period it will break again though.

    Has anyone ever encountered this before or know of a fix?

    Found the problem with this. I was overriding the “functions.php” with duplicate functions. The weird thing was it wasn’t dying every time. I moved the site to a different server before the error message showed up.

    What I think happened was on Windows Azure, the functional site was somehow cached every time I cleared the directory, so I could temporarily work with the duplicate functions. Or something else. Either way, this was caused by duplicate functions. Beware, Windows Azure users!
