Child theme formatting completely messed up
-
Hey everyone,
Worst kind of newbie here: one that has superficially grasped css tweaks and copy and pasted php tweaks into original theme without understanding how or why.
So, I’ve been using Elegant Themes’ Divi, and have added a number of custom css tweaks both to the e-panel and the actual css theme files. I’m pretty sure I’ve also copied in a php function or two.
I should have already of course, I want to create a child theme that allows me to keep my site with all these tweaks but also to update Divi/back up my site etc. However, when I do this, I activate my child theme and the formatting is a complete and utter mess. Not just different, a mess.
My site is here (running parent theme and formatted correctly): https://scribblingsamuel.com/
Thanks everyone, and of course happy to send over required info,
Sam
