• Hello!

I am building a homesite for my job and I am having some great trouble figuring out how this ,,child theme thing” works.

I am using WordPress Twenty Eleven Theme and just started to make some changes to it before realizing that something to do with ,,child theme” is necessary if you do not want to loose everything the next time you update your Twenty Eleven.

    SO:

    My question is:

Will I loose all my changes next time an update is available?

    AND

Could I possibly make a child theme with the changes already made now?

    AND

How do I make a child theme?

Best regards and hope to have some answers for dummies please ??

You will only lose changes if you update and if you’ve made changes to the theme’s files.

You can make a Child Theme, but to avoid losing your changes, you need to transfer the changes into your Child Theme.

How do I make a child theme?
