Child theme live preview blank, and media library won't load

I’m currently running version 1.01 of the Amadeus theme. I was just trying to update one of my web pages, switch some media out. I was having problems with my upload limit(it was set at 2mb). I finally was able to change it to 64mb, and upload my media to my media library. However when I try to add media to a page, the library just won’t load. I figured I should probably update wordpress to the newest version. But before I could do that, I needed to create a child theme to back-up all the changes I made. The child theme does show up in my list of themes, and is available to activate, however when I try to open a live preview of it, the whole screen is blank. Not even a customizer column on the left, just a blank white screen.
