    Hello,
    When I activate the responsive theme in my wordpress dashboard, it looks like the sample theme that I downloaded. However, I created a child theme that I named responsive_child (with style.css), and when I activate it, it doesn’t look like the responsive theme. It is as though it has lost all of the formatting (i.e. the menu bar in responsive is displayed horizontally, but in my child theme the menu is just a list with bullets). This is what I have so far in the responsive_child style sheet:

    /*
    Theme Name: responsive_child
    Theme URL: https://greendotva.com
    Description: This is a custom child theme I have created.
    Author: Susie B
    Author URL: https://greendotva.com
    Template: responsive
    Version: 1.8.9.3
    */

    @import url(“../responsive/style.css”);

    I keep looking this over, and all looks correct to me. Perhaps I am missing something?

    Thanks for helping,
    Susie

    Looks like it’s working okay – and your header image is visible, and the menu is horizontal. Make sure you’ve cleared any site and browser caches.

    I cleared my site and browser caches. When I load my site, the header is visible, but-I am seeing the menu bar displayed as a bulleted list instead of a horizontal menu bar. All of the formatting for my responsive_child theme is displayed differently than when I just activate the responsive theme. I hope this is not too confusing.

    Aha,
    Mysteriously it is now looking as it should!
