I created a child theme for the twenty eleven theme via One-Click Child Theme plug-in. It worked but the child theme does not match the parent theme when activate it. When I preview the deactivated child theme it looks exactly like the parent theme (one minor flaw, though, for another post). What do I have to do to fix this? For instance, the background and header.

  • Background and header are per theme and options stored in wp-options table, so you need to set them for the child, they are not inheirited.

So you activate the child theme, then go to
    Appearance > Theme Options
    Appearance > Background
    Appearance > Header

    Thanks…silly question i guess.

    Not at all,
Many think that settings are transferable theme to theme.

    Glad to help!

    David.
