child theme not overriding parent theme

  • Are there any know limitations to child theme files overriding the same existing parent theme file?
    I’m working with a premium theme and want to override lib/admin/options.include.30.Sidebars.php, but creating the same folder structure and file name in my child theme does not work.
    Any ideas?

  • It really depends upon how the parent theme was written and how child-friendly its code is. There’s no hard and fast answer, I’m afraid.
