• I created a child of Woo Themes Canvas ver 4.7.1 per all the instructions with only a style.css as described and an empty custom.css.
    It shows in the themes directory but when I try to Live Preview it I get a box with Cheatin’ uh? in it.
    I have checked the permissions on all the folders and files and they are the same as the ones in the main theme which works fine.
    The style.css file looks like this:
    /*
    Theme Name: Canvas Child
    Version: 1.0
    Description: Child theme for Canvas.
    Author: WooThemes
    Author URI: https://www.woothemes.com
    Template: canvas
    */

    @import url(“../canvas/style.css”);

  • I’m sorry but as Canvas is effectively a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers.

    The developer says this is a WordPress error. What do I do now?

    if you Google the error, you will come up with plenty of results. One of them will fit your situation.

    However, try using a theme from www.ads-software.com first. Many themes from other web sites restrict your ability to change the theme and have spam and tracking in them. You see this most often in the footer.
