I plan to create importable sites constructed with a main theme’s child theme that will also contain external styles and JS scripts together with a customized functions.php file and other included PHP files. Will the OCDI plugin allow me to do so and what’s the process?

    Hi there @quantum_leap,

Thanks for reaching out! I could be misunderstanding, but it sounds like you might be asking if One Click Demo Import is capable of making a child theme. If so, please know that our plugin does not create child themes. It is used to import demo data.

If you’re looking to create a child theme to use with One Click Demo Import, you’ll first need to make the child theme. In case you need help with that, check out this post on WPBeginner’s website. It provides information on the process for creating a child theme:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-create-a-wordpress-child-theme-video/

When importing demo content, you’ll first need to install and activate the Parent theme and Child theme. After that, you can run the demo import.

I hope that helps! If I’ve misunderstood, just let me know.

    Have a great day!

Hi, I think you completely missed my question, lol. It’s my fault, I should have formed the question differently.

I have the parent theme and the child theme set up. There will be a bunch of plugins installed as well. On top of that, the child theme will have the default stylesheet together with a custom functions.php file but also some custom styles inside a CSS folder. The child theme will also have a few JS files from some external JS libraries or custom scripts. The scripts would be inside some folders that will be in the child theme folder. Finally, there would also be some custom PHP files included inside the child theme.

My question is this: Will the OCDI plugin be able to import the child theme custom PHP, CSS and JS files?

    Hi there @quantum_leap,

No problem, thanks for the clarification. ??

Our plugin is built to import content, and does not import in the way you’re looking for.

I hope that helps! Have a great day!
