Child Themes for Clients

    I’m just wondering if it’s the done thing to make sites for clients using child themes? I make really good child themes from Twentyten with lots of functionality and original designs, but am only just beginning to learn the level of PHP to be able to make themes from scratch. As far as the client is concerned, they have a unique theme. Alternatively, would copying Twentyten and using it as a basis to start my own parent theme be a viable option for a first go at it, then start totally from scratch when I have learnt a bit more?

    Would you price differently for child themes or custom themes?
    What do you think?
