    Hello,

Our server is in China for local service, unfortunately, any global resource like google, twitter, Facebook…are blocked by China government Firewall name Great Firewall.

Fornately, we can access google map at https://www.google.cn/maps, but we can not access maps.google.com.

So, it would much great if you would like to help me with a short code snippet to switch the url, So that I can use the plugin of Code Snippets to input that code.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

    Alex

  • Dear Alex,

    Thanks for your post.
we would like to mention that our plugin works with the script which is taken from Google API but Google API doesn’t have a Chinese version of it.
Thus, unfortunately, we will not be able to help you with this request.

If there is anything else that we can be useful with, we will be glad to assist.

    Thanks

    Hello @wdsupport

    Thanks.

For your information, We can visit google map at frontend at https://www.google.cn/maps.

and I am not sure whether this is Google map API : https://www.google.cn/jsapi, if yes, We can visit in China. I am not familiar with google resource, would you please check it?

If it is Google map API address for China, it would be great if you can send me a short code snippet so that I can insert it by use the plugin of code-snippets(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/code-snippets/) and make it work for me.

    Appreciated for your support.

and also I found we can visit some link like this:https://maps.google.cn/maps/api/js

But I am not sure which is useful:

    https://www.google.cn/jsapi
    https://maps.google.cn/maps/api/js

    Thanks.

    Alex

    Dear Alex,

The only solution will be replacing https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js of the plugin’s codes with https://maps.google.cn/maps/api/js

Please, try that and inform us if it works or not

    Thanks

    Hello,

I changed that URL in these two files,:
    class-hugeit-maps-admin-assets.php
    class-hugeit-maps-frontend-scripts.php

but it will still show error at backend, please check the screenshot:

    https://prntscr.com/hlzkwr

I activated it in sub sites, is there any limitation within Huge-IT google maps in multisite?

Thanks for your further more support.

    Hello,

    FYI, please check here:

    https://developers.google.com/maps/faq#china_ws_access

You will have to edit the code to use the Maps API in China. The bad side is that it doesn’t support https and it will also give you some page speed warnings, but it is possible.

It would be great if you can let me know what and which file I should change, thanks a lot.

    Hello,

I just fount there is built-in API Changing Interface in other plugins, here is screenshot and just for your reference:

    https://prntscr.com/hm9672

I am just thinking it would be great if there is similar one in Huge-IT Google Maps to switch that API.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. please just send me email alexlii at yahoo dot com, and I will reply you with an administrator account for your check.

Since it seems works fine with frontend, but when I try to input address in MARKERS, CIRCLES, and STORE LOCATOR at backend setting, it will just produce and refresh a lot of errors. Screenshot here:https://prntscr.com/hn0mch

But if I use VPN like Lantern, it will not produce error. So I just doubt whether you will find that errors, because when you access our backend you actually also can access google.com/apis.

Anyway, just write to me email if you need administrator, I am glad to do so.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Just like what I said above:

But if I use VPN like Lantern, it will not produce error. So I just doubt whether you will find that errors, because when you access our backend you actually also can access google.com/apis.

So, it does not mean it works in China, since it will still blocked when it check Auth-google.

If you change your Ip of China by VPN, I am sure the errors will be produced.
