    I have two questions.

    1. With the free version, can I customize the template, and print it via thermal printer? or I have to buy some premium version to do that? If yes, could you give me the link?

    2. I tried the free version, but the pdf which is attached to the email can’t show Chinese. How should I solve that? To explain more clearly, I mean, my product name has english + chinese in it. We need to print the invoice with chinese on it, but the chinese on it can’t be read. Where the chinese is, it just show several boxes. But we need to print the invoice to show our chef. They cannot read English.

    Best regards,

    Hi!

If you need to change the layout to make it suitable for smaller media, then the premium version will not help with this. More information on customizing the template: Creating a custom PDF template

The default font included with the plugin does not have chinese characters, that’s why you see boxes there. You will need to setup the plugin to use a chinese font instead. More information here: Using custom fonts.
We also have a Chinese language pack (which is a plugin that you install so that you don’t need to use a custom font) that is available if you have a license for one of our premium extensions.

    Hope that answers your questions!

I have the same problem with display Chinese characters too. About the “Chinese language pack”, is it free after I have purchased the Pro version?

On the other hand, if “Using custom fonts” method, will it make the file size of the pdf invoice much larger than an English invoice? is there a great difference in file size between the invoice contains 500 Chinese characters (mainly in the terms and conditions section) and only a few Chinese characters(the terms and conditions most in English)

Hi! The Chinese language pack is indeed free of charge if you own a license for one of the extensions.

If you enable font subsetting in the plugin settings, there won’t be much difference in size compared to regular latin fonts. Without subsetting is not an option with chinese because PDF files will be several mb in size.

Note that you can’t specify to use the chinese font only for chinese characters (unless only the terms are in English of course, you can apply the font to only that section).

I have purchased the pro version and add the custom fonts as mentioned. The Chinese characters show in the invoice content correctly. However, the Chiese characters show in the footer section still have the problem, some Chinese characters show “?????” (but correct in invoice body), and there are only show few line and end.

Is there a Chinese characters plugin for the pro version as mentioned in above reply?
