    Reset all folders back to 755 and files back to 644.

    Really don’t play around with chmod settings unless you are an advanced user and know what you are doing. I know that I screwed up a number of sites a few years back thinking i knew a bunch about chmod.

    Now I have problems with the uploads directory.

    Right – now you need to change specific permissions carefully.

    Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. Note: Only chmod the folder – not the files and folders inside wp-content. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    I’ve set the permissions but it doesn’t work…

    What permissions did you use?

    I’ve tried with 766 -> doesn’t work, 767 -> doesn’t work, 777-> doesn’t work…

    Try 777 on the uploads folder.

    How to identify folder and file.(chmod setting)
