Choosing and Selecting a Page Template for the Non Active Theme

This is a suggestion for a workaround to the choosing a page template issue.

I tried the suggested workarounds (test theme plug-in and so forth) and none worked. I could not get the specific page designated to display the alternate theme. The problem was that the page template I needed was not available in the active theme and so would not display.

The easy solution was to duplicate the page template php file from the alternative theme and then FTP it into the active main theme.

After that the desired page template (in this case a landing page template) showed up on the designated page and everything worked as it should.

Just a suggestion to others having this problem.
