Do I have the option in WordPress to choose the order in which posts display on a particular section of a page?

For example, say that I wanted the latest post to display at the top of the home page, with larger header text and an image. The next four posts to have smaller header and just an excerpt of body text, and every other post to display just a clickable title:

    Style A – Post 1
    Style B – Posts 2-5
    Style C – Posts 6-last

I know how to do this in ExpressionEngine, but I seem to be a little lost in WordPress. Is it possible, and if so can you point me to some resources?

    Thank you in advance.
    Chris.

No takers, even a yes or no would suffice. Then at least I would know if I am wasting my time with WordPress or not.

    Chris.

How do you want to order the posts? WP order reverse chronologically by default.

As for the formatting, that is all done by your theme. Yes, you can write a template file to do what you describe. Look in the codex for Themes.

Posts are shoing in assending order (oldest to newest). I would rather have the newest post on the top of the page. Which file contains the code to change this?

    Thanks, Dave
