    What I was shooting for:

I was hoping to get a nice welcome page that offers and opt-in using WP-PHP List plugin. **opt-in still acts buggy…I’m on top of that problem***

I also wanted to include another table … either side by side with the opt-in table or somewhere on the page where I you can link through to the blog itself.

Lastly, I wanted to have a horizontal menu at the top of the page with links Home, Blog, and Contact.

Obviously I haven’t got everything I was shooting for. I tried to fix it myself. It’s not working out, there’s so much to read about templates.

Can anyone guide me to getting it to run like what I was going for?

Oh yea … heh … I forgot … “pretty please?”

I am not a professional web designer and I know not to use tables. Rethink tables for css columns.

The yellow box is very hard to read with the bold caps and centered text.
Do a search for horizontal menus, that is how I learned to do them, css too.
Good luck, you can do it.

Thanks … I know to take care of the box thing. I got that in back of my mind. Tables was the the best I could do because my mind was whirling between trying to learn how to edit css, doing my day life, organizing my marketing …

What I was hoping to get is some guidance on the navigation problems and how to edit the css.

At the very least could you … or anyone … give me some links to some easy to follow tutorials?

Thanks for the support. Really I appreciate it.

If there’s anything else to help me along these lines … please do tell.

if you want to learn css fast, and are one of those folks that like to tinker- (like me)- there imHo is no better solution than using TopStyle, which is a css editor.

I think there is a free version too. It will bring you up to speed in no time flat.

Thanks I’ll get on that…I actually do like to tinker and want to learn fast, that’s been one of my goals … to be up to speed on CSS in a way that’s easy to follow.

Thanks a bunch…it sounds like a great solution.

I gladly welcome any other suggestions.

Thanks to all for the wonderful support.
