    Hi Jack,

I’m using Better notifications on a multisite installation. I read your warnings about multisite functionality.

Till now, the simple notifications i set up (new post, new page, new comment, for admins, on a sub-site) worked ok.

But I didn’t get any notification when i tried using a Chrome extension to post on one of my subsites. I tried some other xmlrpc extensions to post. Same result.

Can you confirm notifications do not work when using xmlrpc ? I serached the answer on the faq but i didn’t find it.

Thanks for you very fine job, though.

    Hi @ouranos2,
    Thanks for your message.

That’s correct – any app or site that uses XMLRPC or the REST API will most likely not trigger a notification in BNFW correctly because it doesn’t pass through the correct post status transitions. BNFW required a post to go from draft_to_publish but instead, it’ll probably go through auto-draft_to_publish using the method you describe.

BNFW cannot be modified to trigger on auto-draft_to_publish as it will trigger when auto-saving revisions (which WordPress does automatically) or when other plugins interact with a post during saving / updating / publishing.

Unless you can get your XMLRPC app to go through the correct post status transition, there’s not a lot I can suggest I’m afraid.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Thanks,
    Jack
