• When I view my site through Google Chrome, the widget fonts and page title fonts appear to have a conflict (they appear as hieroglyphs). Works fine in Safari and Fox. Site is: https://tokerpoker.com

    Many thanks for your help!

  • Don’t use chrome, but just a thought: do you have any extensions in your chrome browser that might be causing this? Or do you have javascript switched off? Or maybe an ad blocker?

Have you tried someone else’s chrome browser? (Or can someone else reading this check in Chrome, please?)

It could also be that you are loading fancybox (lightbox) code twice: once from Customizr and once from your gallery plugin.

Another test will be to deactivate all your plugins and see if you still have the problem. If you don’t, then re-activate them one by one to see which is the culprit.

    Thanks ElectricFeet:
I just reloaded Customizr and it helped (widget area now functioning fine and readable, though page and blog titles are still appearing as hieroglyphs).
I tried deactivating all Plugins and re-activated one at a time, to no avail.
I don’t use Chrome – in fact, this is the first time I’ve launched it. I have no extensions on it. (client uses Chrome and discovered the website errors).

One more item of importance – if I’m logged into the website via Chrome, all text is readable, but once I log out we’re back to hieroglyphs.

Then I would suspect a cache plugin, which will show updated pages when logged in, but an old cache version (which may break, depending on the changes you’ve made) when you’re not logged in. Though why it would affect only Chrome, I don’t know.

    However, digging deeper…
Looking at your page source, why is the Customizr theme folder called “customizrTHEMES”?

And could you remove the font: normal normal 1.2em/1 'entypo' declaration from your Custom CSS? The single quotes will be being “sanitised” to ', so it will be causing problems.

And there are lots of other html/CSS errors. Checkout: https://validator.w3.org/

Heya ElectricFeet -thanks for all your help on this. I’m still seeing same issue on Chrome, though. Did you see the hieroglyphs on Chrome or were headers working for you? My client said that depending on which computer he’s viewing, it’s either English, or not… Again, Fox, Safari working fine for me. Cleared cache, fixed theme folder name, removed custom CSS font style, deactivated wp-super cache and meta tags which took care of a few of the validator conflicts, otherwise am at a loss..

    Many thanks!

    I don’t have Chrome, sorry.

Dave just confirmed to me offline that he can see your socials and titles fine.

Note that deactivating a cache may not be the end of the story. I think that in Super cache there’s a setting for preparing it for deactivation/deletion (that is, a setting that really resets the cache). See if reactivating and using that setting makes it work for you. Clear also your browser cache, of course.
