A pop-up appears on screen to users with this message and app icons displayed..”if this web app is trying to trick you into thinking it’s a different app, uninstall it.

below the message two app icons (it is the same icon displayed in our app case) shown with first one arrow to second one

    below that, tabs [uninstall] [ok]

This creates a doubt or worry about our app among users. we haven’t changed any app icon in the backend then why this message should be shown to users.

Could you please look into and update the status please.

The same issue with PWA on my android tablet. Probably after two recent plugin updates this month. And app icon became smaller after that, very small.

    Hello SuperPWA!

    My site: https://infosecportal.ru/

Topic author has described the problem very precisely. I can only add that my app icon has become microscopic after that. And it’s not related to any changes in plugin settings.

It happens with each one the the webapps I have and to all my clients: Image attached on link

    https://www.imghippo.com/i/HJcCa1724941036.jpg

It is in Portuguese – It reads:

    “Check Icon Update”

“If this webapp is trying to pass as another app, uninstall it”

    options: “Uninstall App” or “OK”

Hi, we’ve checked on our end and couldn’t find any such issue. Could you please confirm if you’re using any security app on your device that detects malware? If yes, kindly share the name and link.

good morning I too on cherryeventi.it have the same problem after the latest updates

I’ve reinstalled my PWA and don’t see any problems now.

yes but it is unthinkable to make everyone reinstall the app

Unfortunately, it happens now and then with some apps.

The icon also shrank for me, and by uninstalling and reinstalling it returned to normal, but it is unthinkable to ask 50 people to do the same thing, a fix needs to be done urgently

the problem seems to have arisen after the introduction of Maskable Icons
