No issue for calculation using a zip code, but when I enter city name only, it can’t find shipping options. I checked up on other websites and it seems that the same issue is everywhere. How can I solve this issue?

If you’ve set up shipping zones with zip codes specified, it’s required that users have to enter zip codes in order to get available shipping options – core WooCommerce doesn’t look up applicable shipping methods by only city names.

Thanks for your answer. Shipping zones are not limited with zip code. Actually, there is only one shipping zone for the whole country. But the website is using a specific plugin, Boxtal (https://www.boxtal.com/fr/en/accueil) for relay shipping. Maybe it’s linked to this?

In order to display the shipping methods, both Boxtal’s applications need the zip code and the city at the cart page; in our newest app, Boxtal Connect, the parcel point map is displayed at the cart page, but the shipping address will be estimated at the center of the city.

In order to display the parcel points map with the exact location and show the exact distance to the parcel points, our app will need the zip code, the city name and the address at the checkout page.

In France there are lots of identically named cities, so it is not possible to make the shipping quotation only with the city name, and there are also many cities with the same zip code, so it will work to display the shipping methods, but it won’t work for the map.`
