Claimed Listing Requires Payment?

    Hello,
    I am developing a directory where we manually enter a very small amount of information in order to get listing categories populated. (Business name, phone number and state) We then contact the business and tell them a listing has been created and if they claim their listing they can add more information. This is a free listing. We then offer a premium listing where even more information can be added.

    The problem seems to be that once a person claims their listing it expects payment. We want claimed listing to be free, and then a second level where more info can be added if paid.

    A listing’s Claimed Status shows “pending payment” but I can not see a way to manually bypass that?

    Hi Bryan,

    Sorry that you ran into issues here!

    Claim Listings was originally made to handle paid claims as that workflow was the most obvious and made sense.

    You can have users claim with fee plans that have 0.00 (free) which should allow you to handle the free/paid split.

    For the part where you want paid to be more “premium”, you probably want to use Featured Levels to make the free plan have fewer fields or features, and the paid have all the fields and features. That’s probably going to get you what you need.

    One quirk about Claim Listings that we’re fixing for the next release is that a Free fee plan still looks like it’s “pending payment” because of that original use of Claim Listings. We’ll clean that up but that’s how it works today.

    Yes, I believe that makes sense. So I will add an additional fee plan with a $0 value. Use that for claimed listings and the other paid feature for paid listings.

    I will give it a try and let you know how I make out. thanks!
