Hi. I’m trying to claim my feeds in Bloglines. The instructions say to:

“In order to prove that you are authorized to claim the feeds listed below, please follow these instructions:

    1. Include this claim key in a blog post: <key>
    2. Include this user key in the template for your web site: <key>

Press the “Verify My Claim” button. We will immediately confirm that the keys appear in your post and on your web site. (Show the technical details.)”

Which file do I add the user key to? I tried the index and page templates, but that didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hilary

Thank you thank you thank you!

Glad to hear someone got it working for you! =)

I got it to work by pasting both bloglines keys at the end of statcounter code. Then creating a post using the HTML editor to get to the source view and pasting the first bloglines code, the feed code …all of it..as written.. into the body of the post..it worked.

For some reason the code gets garbled any other way…

I’ve just encountered this issue and thought I’d make a reply so others can understand why it doesn’t work straitght off the bat.

WordPress must strip tags from your post when producing a feed which contains a summary. This means that the BlogLines validation process fails as the “ckey” validation toekn is stripped out in the feed.

So, to validate your feed simply turn on Full Text feeds in Options -> Reading, validate and then return to your usual WordPress settings.
