    Hi there,

As a WordPress developer currently getting my feet wet with Shopify, I’m excited about the ability to add Shopify products to my WordPress sites. However I could use some clarification on the intended use of this plugin.

1.) Is this meant to be a full-blown alternative to WooCommerce or other eCommerce plugins? Or just a way to sprinkle Shopify products throughout your WordPress site?

2.) Am I reading it correctly that you have to have a Shopify store on Shopify’s platform in order to use the plugin on your WordPress site?

I simply used code to embed the images in the page and CSS to give it light box and switcher functionality. The only thing that is Shopify-related on the dedicated glove page is the “Add To Cart” and size selection drop down using the buy embed code.

The ability to switch through images using the buy embed function like you would see in a dedicated Shopify template is not available yet, as far as I know, but I am pretty certain that is one the many functions they are hard at work on.

@brinkingyellows thank you very much for getting back to us.

We are doing a similar thing to you, but use a plugin to achieve the product images.

I’ll keep an eye out for an update.

Really appreciate you getting back to me.

Absolutely. I wish you guys the best and I hope it all works out for you. If you have anything that you can show once your done I would certainly be interested in it!

    Have a great one!

Sure thing, it’s not live at the moment but will be in the next week.

It’s only a very small project with 1 item in the shop. No where near as good as your site ??

The client was spending a lot of money on their existing Shopify site which will allow them to downgrade their package and run the front end via WordPress.

I found it tough to create an entire store with just this plugin so I created Shopify Connect for WooCommerce that allows you to use all the awesomeness that is Shopify along with the structure and such of WooCommerce:

Thanks for all the info! Your integration looks great! But how did you connect your user profile data with the Shopify cart? I’m testing the Shopfiy WordPress plugin on my site, and the Shopify cart doesn’t accesses user data from the WordPress server.

    Thanks!

Since it is used in a full e-commerce, how would customers login to their account besides the checkout popup window? Currently I have a shopify site and will be transferring over to a wordpress site but am using this plugin to include the collections of products. How can a user login to their customer account?

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer customer login functionality over the WordPress plugin at this time.

This plugin is for embedding products and collections to support sales on your website, while still using the Shopify business backend tools.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
