    Hi Team,

I’ve just downloaded this plugin and signed up for the trial version of GeniusLink.

I am also running Pretty Link Pro on my site. In my most recent test I’ve done the following:

    1. Created product link via GeniusLink.
    2. Add that link as a target URL in Pretty Link Pro.
    3. In my content, I’ve added the Pretty Link Pro URL created above.

Now the question I’ve is this: Will the plugin still localise the links? Or does it only work if I used the actual Amazon link?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi jthicf,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m assuming you’re creating links from the geni.us link tool in your Geniuslink account instead of using the Amazon Link Engine plugin, is that correct?

If so, and assuming the Pretty Link Pro tool doesn’t attempt to change the geni.us links, our service will still globalize those links for you. If you have an example page of where you’ve done the above, I’d be happy to take a look for you to verify as well.

    Thanks!

    Hi Team,

    Thank you for the reply.

Regarding your 1st question, yes that is correct. I didn’t realise that I could create the links via the WordPress plugin as well. How do I go about doing this?

    A sample page is here:
    https://marketergear.com/xknu

The specific link in question is 7 Day Startup.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey there,

Thanks for the quick reply. The Amazon Link Engine will automatically find and “globalize” your links on your page, so after installing and syncing to your Geniuslink account, there’s nothing else you need to do. However – those links need to be Amazon links on the page, and unfortunately can’t run through PLP. However – creating geni.us links instead should work, I believe.

That being said, I took at look at the 7 Day Startup book link and unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s running through us right now, and instead goes straight to Amazon.com. Just to confirm – you created a geni.us link for that same item, then put that geni.us link into Pretty Links Pro and got the https://marketergear.com/7-day-startup link, is that correct?

If so, would you mind sending an email to [email protected] with a screenshot of that process so I can take a look further?

Thanks for your time so far.

    Hi team,

I’ve sent through an email with screenshots.

    Hey jtchlcf,

Emailed you right back! It looks like Pretty Links Pro is not “honoring” our links and is instead using the raw Amazon link. As mentioned in the email, I recommend contacting them to see if there’s a way within their plugin to just use the geni.us link instead of overwriting it.

Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you, but please let me know if you’re able to get in touch with them, and what they say once they respond.

    Thanks!

Alright – for anyone else who has the same issue, it looks like Pretty Links Pro had a previous link cached, so it didn’t update to include the geni.us link that jthlcf had created.

To fix the issue, clear the cache of your WordPress instance after saving the new geni.us link behind the PLP link and it should work as expected.

    Case closed. ??
