Clarification on My account login

  • Hi,

    I have a problem, on attempting to create an account from the home page either as a customer or a vendor, the login takes me to the back-end of the site, why is that?

  • I’m fairly new to this but have built my first site. I think that’s the only login that come with WP out of the box. If you want a front end login screen you’ll need a plugin.

    Unfortunately, which plugin isn’t a simple question to answer. A lot depends on which theme you’re using and what features you want for users and admin purposes.

    You can search the wp plugin area for login or member and the results will describe features they offer. Try a few out and see where you get. Just make sure you backup your site first. Having too many plugins installed can case problems. So just try one at a time.

    I would also try searching YouTube for vids on your theme. Include the keywords user login. Also, as a beginner I’ve gotten some good info off of https://www.wpbeginner.com
